How did the Universe begin?
With a big bang. But what happened before the bang is a mystery.
What is the Universe made of?
Strings and things vibrating in ten dimensions of space and time.
What is the origin of good?
Sexual selection. We are indeed designed, not by God but by the opposite sex who, in the case of humans, selected for humor, wit, music, philosophy, dance, storytelling, and entertainment in general around the campfire at night.
What is the origin of evil?
You are in the wrong group.
Is there free will?
Only to the extent you believe you will be punished, or rewarded, for the things you do.
What is the nature of the mind?
Subjectively we know what it is. We have a front row seat. Objectively, as a physical phenomenon, it may be an electromagnetic field generated by the combined motion of all the electrons and positive ions that move when our neurons fire.
How do you find happiness?
I'm always looking, trying to realize my highest potential as I feel it to be, which makes me miserable most of the time. Then, in an odd moment, there is transient sensation of blessedness.
How do you find truth?
By looking. Seek and ye shall find.
What is the meaning of life?
Of life in general, of human life, history, or of my life in particular? In all cases I think it has to do with the stories we tell ourselves as we go along. Whether those stories are true or false we may only find out in the moment of death.
What is the role of evolution?
To explore the near infinite possibilities of existence.
What happens after death?
I am much more worried about what happens in the moment of death. How much pain? Will it be beautiful or ugly? How intense? Will it depend on the life I have lived?
What is going to happen to humankind?
Some will survive and continue to evolve into what I don't know. Maybe not so smart but kinder and gentler.
What question is missing?
Does God exist?
