I don't think there is such a thing as good and evil at the universal level. Good and evil are subjective based on perspective. At the human level there is a belief that good perpetuates things and evil goes against what is human. But at the grand universe level, we are just a spec of dust in the enormity that exists and most of existence couldn't care less about our perceptions. I still think this is an important question for "us" (us = humans).

Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.

Herein lies the tragedy of the age: not that men are poor, — all men know something of poverty; not that men are wicked, — who is good? not that men are ignorant, — what is Truth? Nay, but that men know so little of men.

False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil.

Evolutionary need of humans, whatever is felt harmful to progress and survival. There is no ABSOLUTE good or evil. What is evil to one is good for others, what is evil now , was good in past or will be in future.
